Bag-o nga Pier sa Iloilo

Ko June 2015 ko lang nakit-an ang bag-o nga pier sa Iloilo.  Mas tawhay.  Mas eapad ag mas systematic.  Pag-guwa mo sa fast craft mabaktas ka eang it pilang eak-ang ag una eon dayon do pila it mga taksi, dyip, ag vans paagto it Caticlan.

Kung pareho ka kakon nga Akeanon nga nagatrabaho sa Bacolod ag sa ciudad ka mismo it Bacolod maagi, sumakay ka eang it dyip nga Lapuz ag manaog sa tulay sa likod it Iloilo Provincial Capitol ag bumantay ka it dyip paadto sa Tagbak.  P8 eang do pamasahe sa Lapuz nga dyip ag P12 sa pa-Tagbak.  Tayuyon man ing pamanaw basta eawas ag katarungan mo eang ing bitbit pero kung sangka-nabiya (ano baea do ginhalinan it bisaea ngara?) ing bitbit hai pagtaksi eon lang. ;)

How to Budget your Income

i recently downloaded an app called DEM (Daily Expense Manager) in my xperia phone and i'm so religiously updating it everytime i take away money.  It's so nice because it is in pesos and can have lots of categories.  I can easily see which one had the most expense and if i'm going beyond my budget.  When you only have enough to last you until the next payday, better take in charge in how you spend your hard-earned money. ;)  Then i got this in my mailbox a few days back and reminded to continue with what i'm doing.  Happy investing and saving! ☼

If you’ve been living from paycheck to paycheck, deep in debt and without a clear financial future – then I suggest you make yourself a grumpy saver now before you turn into a financial disaster in the future.

I hope these simple steps on creating a zero-based budget can help.

ZERO-BASED BUDGET PLANNING SYSTEM
1. Account all your income sources in a month. This is simple if you’re an employee. For entrepreneurs and freelancers, simply take the average of your monthly income for the past 3 to 4 months.

2. Track down all your monthly expenses – include everything – then categorize them into three types:
  • Fixed expenses such as rent, mortgage payments, etc.
  • Semi-fixed expenses such as electricity and other utility bills which fluctuate very little every month
  • Variable expenses such as entertainment spendings and other regular expenses whose amount varies each month
3. Assign the exact amount from your income to fixed expenses first. Next, allocate part of your income to your semi-fixed expenses (try using the highest amount from the past three months). And lastly, budget what’s left of your income to your variable expenses.

4. The key here and what your main focus should be is to make sure that all your monthly expenses are covered by your income.

5. What if my income is not enough to cover all the expenses?
6. What if my income is more than enough to cover all the expenses?
  • First, congratulate yourself because you’re actually living below your means.
  • Then, assign the extra money you have to ‘Savings’ or ‘Investment Budget’
  • Lastly, allocate some of it to ‘Luxury Expenses’ (you deserve the reward)
7. Adjust your budget until all your money has been “spent on paper”. Don’t stop until every cent has been assigned – which means your ‘Income’ less your ‘Expenses’ is equal to ‘Zero’ (thus the name of the system).

8. Review your budget status and progress once a week. Constantly work on how you can improve your system until it becomes a habit.

And that’s it – that’s how you do a zero-based budget planning system. It will be difficult at first but it gets easier as months go by, trust me.

Again, the important thing to remember, whether you’re doing the Envelope System, the Zero-Based Budget Planning System, or a combination of both – is to have a healthy mindset about what you’re doing.

Let go of envy and self-pity and have an optimistic attitude – know that someday, with enough patience and persistence, you will become smarter with how you handle your money, you’ll live without financial worries and of course, be happier than you are today.

to withdraw from other ATM's bank or not...

whoa! this made me think again.  i've been withdrawing like crazy and not thinking hanggang sa nabasa ko itong artikulo ngayon.  napaisip tuloy ako kung kailangan ko ng magbukas ng bagong ATM account sa Citibank.  meron kaya dito sa Bacolod City? hmmmm

paypal and credit card

i came across a sale of unbelievable price P160 for an affordable e-book that i believe i could benefit so much but it's a bummer i don't have a paypal account or a credit card.  hmmmm is it time to get a credit card now?  i'm thinking of using it mainly for on
line air ticket promos and lose myself in this country. hahahahhaha

but going back isn't it really a big disappointment? deep sigh.  it reminds me of my iloy.  she said: 'kung may mag offer man kuno kana it gold nga kaldero sa halagang piso kung owa imaw bisan bingkoe nga bakod owa gid.' hahahahahahahaha

sige na nga will consider getting a credit card na.  now it's time to look for what's best. ;)) pero sana makuha ko pa rin ang e-book na yun for that price in whatever way. crossing my fingers now.

2-way street to Cebu

Are you planning to visit Cebu anytime soon?  I was there just last weekend and decided to try both ways via RORO (Roll-On-Roll-Off): that is via Toledo City and Dumaguete City to find out which way is better.  I will list down the fares and time difference for comparison:

ready to go. waiting for bus going to San Carlos City
via Toledo City, Cebu
  • Ceres bus (aircon) from Bacolod City to San Carlos City via Don Salvador Benedicto (i was told by a friend this is the faster route than via Escalante City) = P140 [2hours and 10minutes)
  • tricycle from San Carlos City bus terminal to RORO port = P50 (we were 3pax) [5minutes]
  • fast craft vessel (chose this over RORO as the fare difference i was told is only P25 and this is faster for only an hour) = P200 [1hour]
  • terminal fee = P20
  • tricycle from Toledo City pier to bus terminal going to Cebu City = P50 (if you don't have any heavy luggage just walk to the terminal it's quite near i discovered late) [10minutes]
  • bus from Toledo to Cebu City (non-aircon) P70 [2hours and 30minutes]
  • upon arrival to bus terminal we took a taxi to our destination: barangay Banilad, Cebu City = P130 [30minutes]
  • TOTAL = P660 [5hours and 55minutes]
Toledo City pier

via Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental
going back to Bacolod City via Dumaguete City
taxi from Banilad to bus terminal = P120 [30minutes]
Ceres bus from Cebu to Liloan Port, Santander onward to Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental (aircon) = P200 [3hours and 30minutes up to Liloan port] [30minutes to bus terminal in Duymaguete City]
RORO from Liloan port, Santander to Tampi port, San Jose, Negros Oriental = P70 [30minutes]
Ceres bus from Dumaguete City to Bacolod City (aircon) - P300 [6hours]
TOTAL : P690 [11hours]
Ceres bus coming from Liloan port to Tampi port

Dumaguete City view from Liloan port
So i therefore conclude that there is a price difference of P30 and 5 hours and 10minutes.  Going via San Carlos was such an easy way and i always love the scenery especially in Don Salvador Benedicto.  it's mostly mountains and sugarcane plantation and pine trees and i get to feel the Baguio like roads.  even mother earth liked it! ;)  the weather was even much cooler.  Kalorky lang ang RORO ride from San Carlos to Toledo.  Aside from smaller boat super init ang economy nila.  i will try their aircon room next time.  Another thing is walang Ceres bus sa Toledo only local bus and it was Cañoneo.  you choose between bus and a v-hire.  siguro next time try ko rin ang v-hire nila how fast it will be.  Hindi ko rin masyadong gusto ang view from Toledo to Cebu.;(

Via Dumaguete naman i liked it because they have Ceres bus which is aircon and marami ring local buses aircon and non-aircon.  i super loved the view kasi it was coastal and mountains on the other side so feeling ko nasa Antique lang ako where the mountains meet the sea ;).  May roads din sila na it felt like traveling to Boracay from Kalibo.ü  super ganda ng beaches all the way to Santander and super clean.  Ang saya din kasi dumaan ako uli ng Argao, Cebu after 12 years!  Namiss ko ang aking AMA volunteer year kasi doon kami nag overnight sa dagat nung magstaff outing kami.  We passed this Sumilon Blue Waters island near Santander and it was so enticing.  May reason for me to come back ;)
Sumilon Blue Waters

The reason why i opted to pass by Dumaguete City is to show iloy around the city and discover the Bayawan, Negros Oriental way but sad to say when we arrive in the terminal i was told that there is no Bacolod City via Bayawan but only via Mabinay.  Ok na rin kasi di pa nakikita ni iloy ang way but then i have passed it many times already and it's really a long way home plus it's near evening already so iloy won't appreciate the beauty but we were there so just enjoyed it.  Napakahabang biyahe lang talaga.  All in all it took us 12 hours to reached home. But it was a great weekend getaway.  thanks to my sis Jingjing who accommodated us and showed us around.  Next post would be food trip and where we went around Cebu.ü

7 Day Diet

With my 5feet height and 60kilos weight i am obese ;( I have been wanting to lose weight but no effect. Tried after 6 no solid food but water no result. ;( But i must not lose hope. Yesterday i started with my one week diet. For my first day i only had fruits except bananas. So for breakfast i had watermelon, melon, and mango. For lunch i had watermelon and melon. for merienda i had 1/4 kilo of lanzones and an apple. then for dinner i had mixed fruits with milk in organic market. the whole day i consumed about 10 glasses of water. it's a must!

it feels good to have control and disciplined myself even though my housemate has been really eating real food in front of me, i was able to hold myself pick a bit of it. hurray! instead of thinking food, i busied myself reading Why We Want You To Be Rich by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki until my eyes told me it's time for bed.

Day One = SUCCESS! =)
