Where to stay in Buruanga?

If there's one place to go and relax right in front the beach, with pool just next to your room, come and visit Weber Lodge and Resort
The picture below is right in front the place. When it's low tide, try to join the locals in collecting seashells.

The place has its own swimming pool if you don't like the sea water.
The room is spacious and can accommodate a group of 5. I noticed, they are still constructing additional rooms.

They also have someone to cook your food if you like. Anyway, it's worth checking out.

I had a good time.👌

Accommodations in Roxas, Palawan

We checked out 2 options for our outreach in Northern Palawan and Roxas is the best place to be given its proximity to other municipalities.
Ysidore's Garden is where we end up as it has good rooms with a pool and hot and cold shower which is a must for our Aussie guests. It has a nice garden which makes the place cooler.
This is its entrance as well as parking space.

It is worth checking out though the Artesian Bed & Breakfast with lots of trees and for me that is its charm. Although, the room is just basic but for Filipinos, why not? It is also cheaper to stay here.
Acacia old tree.
The 2-story place by I must say I didn't like it's cleanliness. Badly maintained.

Peria Seafront Pensione

If you're looking for a nice and cheap accommodation while in Roxas, Palawan, don't hesitate to stay here. Besides from the friendly owner, she really serves good food.
This is the area to enjoy the sea and the view.

Proof the forged friendships I had during my sojourn there.

Interview with Myself

Came across this article i starred a few years back and worth reviewing and answering. Hmmm...let's check if there's any changes since.

From time to time, it's good to have a conversation with yourself -- maybe even an interview. This is how i do it.

First, i sit down in front of my computer while doing so many things in between and Michael Buble is on the background.
Dear self, you are 41 years old. What do you have to show for it? Are you living the dream? ..nah! far from the one i dreamt of but at least leading into that direction.
As you look back on your life, what are you most proud of, what do you regret, and how do you feel about each of those things?

i am proud of being me right here, right now. If i could change a thing, it would be to better the version of myself today.

I don't have regrets. I try not to have one. I believe that i chose the best decision i have given the circumstance of that time. I feel great nevertheless with all the ups and down and the topsy-turvy life i lived and living.

Here are a few follow-ups:
  • What's next, self? ..i'd like to be freer and travel often. Study online and engage in farming. Have my own little house in the countryside with the twins and work at home. I chose to manage my time rather than time dictates me it's time to sleep or work or whatever

  • Why do you do the things you do? ..i feel joy in doing so and i believe i'm co-creating the world with the little things i can contribute

  • What do you really believe in? (What do you know to be true?) ..i believe we are all one. There is only heaven to go to after my physical life but i will be back reincarnated with my higher version of awareness. I believe that the world is kind and abundant and is filled with love. Love is innate and universal. We all want one thing: to love and be loved in return. I believe a day will come or it might have come and i'm just not aware. I believe religion is just another institution to make money and cage people and threaten them they'll go to hell if you don't pay your tithes and whatever. Love is freedom and freedom is love. That is all why we came here. To be able to experience and demonstrate that.

  • Where do you find your security? ..knowing that there is no guarantee in this life. I may be dead any moment while doing this. I may be disable tonight. Nothing can guarantee my safety. When it's time to go on, then we go whether or not i'm prepared or whatnot.

  • What bothers you, and what are you doing about it? ..it bothers me that people don't care much how they trample upon mother earth. How they take things for granted like water. The level of awareness of the majority is still superficial and i wonder when they're going to wake up and do something consciously. I do my share in taking care of the earth and valuing what really matters like avoiding plastic use, consuming organic and natural products, saving water whenever i can, etc.

  • What worries you? ..i'm worried that i'll die and i'm not even halfway through realizing my dreams. I'm worried for the day to come that my mother won't be here anymore as if there's one thing i'd like to freeze in this life, that would be having her while i'm here. ;)

  • If you had one year left to live, how would you spend it? ..spend most of it being in the forest, biking, waterfalls visits and having the best food i can have.
***

Of course, when you interview yourself, you can customize the interview however you see fit. The point is to make sure you know why you're doing what you do, and if you should make any changes. Simple, except when it's not.

How about you -- are you satisfied with your answers? Are you living the dream?

Where to EAT when in Bacolod City (my top 8)

I have been living in the City of Smiles for about 16 years now.  wow!  pamatyagan ko ngani hai iya eot ang nag-gueang. hahahahaha

Sayod ko eon do ins and outs kumbaga iya sa ciudad.  Pero do akong utak makaron nagadaeagan sa kaean-an.  Mingko naging adik ako sa pag-adto sa mga kaean-an nga nababasa ko man sa ibang bloggers kaya ginasigurado ko gid nga hiadtunan ko man para masamitan. ;)  Abo ang mga bagay do pwedeng ubrahon sa Bacolod galing hai unahon ko anay do pagkaon dahil do Bacolod makaron nagiging sikat eot sa mga kaean-an.  Fud trip a do matabo kung sa Bacolod ka ;)  So, kung gausoy ka it kaean-an sa Bacolod hara ang mga highly recommended basta according to my taste and standard ha and not arranged according to who or what's best:
  1.  Malaspina Inasal - dahil kilaea do Bacolod nga Inasal Country numero uno imaw kakon. ;) Makit-an sa corner it Lopez Jaena-L.N. Agustin Drive (formerly Malaspina Street)  maeapit imaw sa Guiness World Record' nga nag-iisang sementeryo sa tunga it daean ;) ag sa Circle Inn
  2. Rau Ram Cafe - authentic nga Vietnamese foods. Kung indi ka hiadto sa Vietnam for your entire life, at least have a taste of the their best foods made available here in Bacolod City. Barato eon, kanamiton pa.
  3. L'Sea Dimsum and Noodle House - mahilig ako sa noodles ag bisan indi kami magkita it humay basta may noodles ok eot ang ;)  Namian pa gid ako sa mga mahaeang nga pagkaon.  Sa L'Sea euwas nga accessible imaw dahil una sa Lacson Street ag madali maw usuyon dahil kaiping it first class nga L'Fisher Hotel, according sa akong taste buds hai sanda do may pinakanami nga pancit canton ag may chili sauce sanda kaya nami gid.
  4. Mai Pao - they have the best congee in the city. Medyo mahae do presyo pero kung sharing, okay gid. Hot and sour soup nanda namian gid ako. Crispy fried canton is also one of my best.
Manami gid man do mga pagkaon ang do breads and desserts nanda hai puwede gid balik-balikan. Ro akong indi ma-missed orderon hai andang tofu.
  6. Maria Kucina Familia - ko late last year eang da napansin ko nga nagbukas. Pang formal dining. Manami do mga pagkaon pero bukon it masyadong manami sa buesa it nagatipid. For so many years, Bob's brick-oven pizza gid a ang paborito kung feel ko mag-pizza pero makaron hai napirdi eon imaw ni Kucina.
  7. Natural Garden Cafe of Welcome Home Foundation - i love this place kay "Barato na, Healthy Pa." Manned mostly by deaf persons so when you eat here, you actually help the deaf community too. They grow their own herbs and other veggies and they have their own bread house as well. I just love their food there. Closed though on weekends so you must come during weekdays.
  8. Kimstaurant - this is the best Korean restaurant for me. I can eat here daily. I especially love their kimchi jigae. Ahhhh nothing beats so far. Jajangmyun (black bean noodles) is also good and an all-time favorite along with samgyupsal. Their side dishes especially if they have the camote delight is heavenly.ü And of course, don't forget the melona ice cream. Ang sarap! ;)

Korean Dramas

Since i was introduced 5 years ago to Korean Drama, i never stopped watching. Empress Ki was my first ever exposure and since then i can't count how many i have watched.

At marami kami ha, in fairness. ;) Oppa, eomma, dongseang, appa, omo, aigoo, krumio, at iba pa.

Life is

QUESTIONS FOR YOU TO THINK ABOUT:
  1. If you could change one thing about your life right now, what would it be?

  2. What have you done or tried to do in the last 10 years to feel more alive, happy and fulfilled?

  3. If you could imagine living each day more authentically, more soulfully, how would that look and feel to you?
It will always be worth your time to stop, think, listen and define who you are on a regular basis. Look within for we are never without....

Best Printer

I am so annoyed since last week when our Brother printer that is barely a year old won't suddenly print. It's the all in one printer wherein puwede kang mag-print ng A3 and wifi and wireless printing is allowed. I used to have the old Brother printer/scanner too and more than the service, disappointments is more appropriate to define it. Dahil need sa work ang A3 printing, napilitang bumili and too late for the realization na Brother siya ulit. ;(

I'd rather have my Canon Pixma back although basic printer siya and Epson ones kaysa bumili ng isa pang Brother na ang customer service after sales talaga ay super failed para sa akin. Never again Brother!

What is God's Sex?

MALE and FEMALE
Many humans have been told that What God Wants is for humanity to understand that God is male. The result is that most people who believe in a deity at all hold this to be true. The idea that God is masculine is so pervasive that it's shocking to the ear to hear God referred to as "She."

Many humans have also been told that God wants men and women to have particular roles and to be treated in particular ways in life, and that He has specified all of this in Holy Scripture.
One result of this teaching: Males are considered superior to females in nearly all of the world's cultures. In some of those cultures this manifests as cultural norms that do not allow females to go to school, to hold jobs of authority or responsibility, to leave the home without being in the company of a blood male relative, or to permit any part of their body to be seen in public, requiring them to be covered from head to toe.

A woman's testimony at Court is worth half of that of a man's--meaning that it requires two female witnesses to meet the test of adequate proof. A woman's testimony regarding a husband's beatings, cruelty, or infidelity will go ignored unless she can produce a corroborating witness, whereas a man can send his wife to death by stoning by simply stating that she committed adultery. His singular assertion is sufficient.

A woman's share of any inheritance is also accepted as being half of that of her brother. The logic behind this is that a man is financially responsible for his family, while a woman is not. This is the identical logic that, in other cultures, blocks women from earning the same pay as men for doing the same work. The fact that a man may remain unmarried all his life and wind up not having a family, or that many women become widows, or that women would not and should not have to concede this role to a man if she were treated equally, is, of course, ignored by this logic.

In some male-dominant cultures female's genitals are mutilated, cut and sewn, in order to deprive them of sexual pleasure and thus reduce the temptation they may feel to engage in sexual encounters other than those demanded by their husbands. In some cases this is seen as a rite of passage rendering female children desirable, suitable, and worthy marriage material.

Other cultural norms reflecting extreme bias against females include the custom of blocking women from becoming clergy in many religions or rising to power and authority in any civil, legal, or business enterprise, or holding any major leadership position in politics or government.
A handful of women in some cultures have overcome these customs (in many cultures they are still not allowed to even try), but always it's a struggle, always it's the notable exception, always it's a steep uphill climb to be accepted in most high profile occupations or powerful or influential roles within the global society.

Katrina Brooks, of Rome, Georgia, U.S.A., knows all about that. According to an account written by Louise Chu for The Associated Press on September 25, 2004, Katrina is a member of the Southern Baptist Church who felt a calling and wanted to become a minister. She enrolled in the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Virginia, then found a church that would accept both her and her husband, Dr. Tony Brooks, who was already ordained, as co-pastors. North Rome Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia invited the couple to lead its congregation in November of 2003.
Not everyone was pleased.
A revision of the Baptist Faith and Message in 2000 takes a hard line on female pastors, the AP's Louise Chu reports. The denomination's chief doctrinal statement says that "the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture," citing the Bible at 1 Timothy 2:11-14. That passage reads, "Let a woman learn in silence in all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent."

Two weeks after Katrina and her husband arrived at their new church several of her fellow clergy (all men) called meetings of the Floyd County Baptist Association to discuss the matter. They wanted the association to adopt a position that would, in effect, force the Rome church to leave the association.
This difference in the treatment of the genders is, many of the world's people believe, What God Wants. After all, the Bible says so. And so do the Scriptures of other religions.

BDO at saka Metrobank.

                           Late payment
BDO                     pwedeng ma request na huwag ng bayaran lalo pa kung full mo naman                              binayaran at days after the deadline pa lang
Metrobank            600 at fixed itong kailangan mong bayaran

Never again with Metrobank credit card.

The 70-20-10 rule states that:
-    70% is allocated for living expenses (rent, food, clothing, etc.)
-    20% is allocated for savings (retirement, investment, emergency fund, etc)
-    10% is allocated for debt repayment or fun money or tithes

Mayamang buhay! ;)

CT Scan with Contrast

  2. Doctors Hospital Bacolod - 10k (may senior citizen discount pa) at 16 slices din
